Terms of use
Last updated 2 October 2026.
About these terms
Ridebench is a free tool for browsing and comparing vehicle specifications. It is a non-commercial hobby project run by Jonas Hagel, a private individual based in Denmark. By using the site you agree to these terms. There are no paid tiers and nothing is sold.
Accounts
You don't need an account to browse or compare vehicles. You need one to post comments. To create an account you must be at least 16 years old. You are responsible for keeping your password secure and for what is posted from your account. You can delete your account at any time from Account settings.
Comments and other content you post
You keep ownership of your comments. By posting one, you allow us to display it on Ridebench, free of charge, for as long as it stays on the site. Comments are public. Don't post anything that is unlawful, infringes someone else's rights, harasses others, is spam or advertising, or includes other people's personal information. We may remove content that breaks these rules, or suspend accounts that repeatedly do. To report a comment, use Send feedback.
Accuracy of vehicle data
Vehicle specifications come from public government registries and datasets (US NHTSA and FuelEconomy.gov, and the Dutch RDW), plus some entered by hand. They are not supplied or checked by manufacturers. They are provided "as is", with no guarantee that they are accurate or complete. Figures can be incomplete, out of date or wrong, and the "Best" highlights on comparisons only reflect the data we hold. Don't rely on Ridebench as your only source for a purchase, safety, legal or compliance decision. Always check the specifications that matter to you with the manufacturer or an official registration document.
Photos and third-party content
Some vehicle photos come from Wikimedia Commons and are used under their Creative Commons licenses. The credit is shown next to the photo. Those photos are not covered by these terms and stay under their own licenses.
Acceptable use
Don't use the site in a way that disrupts it for others. For example, don't scrape it or send requests at a volume that slows it down for everyone, and don't try to get around access controls or rate limits. We may rate-limit or block traffic that does.
No warranty, limited liability
The site is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. We don't guarantee that it will always be available or free of errors. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any damages that come from using, or being unable to use, the site or its data. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
Governing law
These terms are governed by Danish law, and disputes are settled by the Danish courts. If you are a consumer living in another EU country, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of your country. You can also bring a claim in your own country's courts.
Changes
We may update these terms as the site changes. We'll change the date above when we do. If you keep using Ridebench after an update, you accept the revised terms.
